Ok people just thought something like this might be fun. I'll open up a thread for everyone to post pictures similar to the one I posted in my last entry (Cogeco/Hitler). Go wild, I'll post some of my favorites on the front page.
Hey, I know you're all thinking it, I'm just the one to say it. Anyways, Cogeco decided to kill our internet today due to excessive uploading. Apparently we uploaded 230GB since September 1st. This really doesn't make much sense to me though. This means, if our computers were on 24hrs a day, we would have to be constantly uploading at about 165 kb/s for 408 hours straight. However, since our computers are only one for about 17 hours a day, we would have to be uploading at about 230 kb/s for as long as all the computers are on. The fact that our average online pings are always well under 100 even when we have all 8 computers playing makes this reading completely absurd seeing as we only have a 640kbps up line. I could understand if it was over 200gb down, but 230gb up is pretty unlikely. We will be switching providers as soon as our contract is up. We will be getting unlimited bandwidth :) If anyone is interested in getting some FTP space, or dedicated game server hosting, just let us know and we can work something out.
In other news:
- Our TF2 Release party was completely screwed over... We may have a TF2 afterhours party this weekend, we will open this up to MEMBERS ONLY. More into will be posted as soon as we figure it out.
- We finally got our security system in. It's one of those beeping thingers. If anyone wlaks out with the store's equipment, the alarm will go off and the doors will lock automatically :) This should be fun, since EVERYTHING has been tagged, from controllers to the pc's and monitors.
- W're almost finished decorating the computer area, if you've seen it in the past 3 days, let us know what you think. We just need to get one more poster up and finished the lighting and we'll be all done. After that, we will be finishing up the members lounge then move on to the console area (new couches etc..)
So I don't have much to report about today. Only 2 small things. The first is that we finally got our server up and running with 1.9tb of storage. However, we somehow managed to use 1tb of space already...
The second thing is, is that the member lounge should be done in a few weeks. Here's what we're looking to have in it:
1 - 32" LCD Monitor with: Xbox Xbox 360 Playstation 2 Web Browsing PC
A nice sound system hooked up to the server with about 400+ gb of music. 5 Nice big computer desks, for homework, laptops etc.. 1 NEW coumfy loveseat.
*Gaming PC's will come shortly, just give us a bit to settle in.

Alrighty, so for those of you who actually care. Here are the initial parts Mike and I purchased today from good ol' Princess Auto. It passed the leak test and runs VERY nicely. This pump os rated at 350GPH, so theres LOTS of flow :) Check out the pics, discuss at the link below. If you want to join our little competition let me know. The points are rated on percentage of overclock, not total clock. This means everyone's got a chance.
Yes it's finally here. We are having a pre-release party. The beta will be release this Monday at 3am. Yes it's after our normal hours but we are making an exception. We are putting out a FULL DAY PASS for monday for 20$. This pass is valid from 2am Monday morning after regular hours until 2am Tuesday Morning. This is a full 24 hour pass for only 20$. We will most likely be playing TF2 the whole time so bring your energy drinks. Since we only have 8 slots available for this, I am not makig a special form. Just email me letting me know you are interested. Your registration will only be confirmed once you come in and pay the 20$. First 8 people that pay will get the spots. This will pretty much be just one big party. Once again, e-mail me via the contact form up top if you want to reserve a slot.
So we are in the process of creating a members only lounge in the middle room. This room will have desks, consoles, tv's & couches for the members to just come in and hang out. We will have laptops avail for them to surf the net while they relax. We will not get gaming PC's in there yet. however, we will be getting some amazing gaming comps to fill that room. Members will also receive custom logins so they can store their files on a private server. It is a little messy, but it's going to be sweet.
Note: The hippie posters will be replaced with gaming posters The mess will be cleaned up. There will be a nice big plasma mounted to the wall with cable tv hooked up.
Just letting everyone know that WGC will be getting TF2 Prior to it's official release. We will be having a HUGE release party. Prices will be announced shortly. Seats are limited so they MUST be reserved. Updates will be posted as we recieve them.
We will be getting our first co-op student some time next month :) Gotta love free labour. Well, it won't be much of a change to the free labour I already get, except I gotta fill out paperwork... Anyways, I will update everyone with more info as soon as I get it.
